yup this will happen for a while untill the sand becoms laddin with bacteria.. mine is clear with in a hour when I am farting around in there now.

I do see one problem with your set up.. you need to put some seran wrap over the tank and get that wood above it painted with a varnish or polyurathain to water proof it or it will warp on you and start rotting. if it warps right the force might be enuf to push on your tank wall and crack it.

I would even cote the wood under the tank and the stand if you havent already done so. I had a little block of wood above mine that was untreated and the salt creap caused dammage in just 2 months.
