Brett - love it! That is sort of the idea I was thinking (maybe minus the stairs). I wasn't sure how much clearance there should be above the ballast before the ceiling and how far they have to be from the tank. I can just see the inspector coming in for final inspection (he has to look at the plugs if nothing else), seeing what I've done, and just writing a big ol' "NO." on his inspection report.
