Your perfectly fine without a ph test on your freshwater, make sure its declorinated and near the same temp of your tank
Tap water is on average 7.0 in my city btw.

Zoa colonies in the wild are exposed to extreme changes in water quality due to incoming tides and daily rainfall into thier pools of water near the surface.

While the zoa will survive a small treatment in extreme conditions , nothing else will.
