![]() So with summer almost here and tank temps approaching 83, I have installed a 1/2hp chiller on my tank. It works just awesome. Constant 79!
However, I'm using a Sedra 12000 to provide flow for the chiller, and in the sump I have the 3/4" hose connected to the barb on the pump: The idea of not having a hose clamp on there is bugging me, I can picture that hose flying off and causing some serious issues. So, my questions is: Would a 100% stainless steel hose clamp be ok? Would this cause issues long term? Am I just being paranoid? I did find a manufacturer in the US who makes a titanium hose clamp, since my heater is Titanium I can only assume its reef safe. However I cannot find a local dealer who carries them...and the idea of paying $50 to have 1 hose clamp shipped up is not cool. ------------ Also what is your experience with chiller cycling on and off? Whats normal? Last edited by m109r; 04-30-2009 at 06:18 AM. |
