Yeah what's up with them bases anyhow. At least I don't have a problem with trying to find a spot for mine though. (All currently filed under "G"
 )I think your blue-lined clam is in fact a maxima not a squamosa. But you're correct, blue squamy's are very unusual. Be that as it may though, it is still quite exquisite.
