I actually only use it because I think the clams seem to look a little better when I do (might be my hopeful imagination though, not sure). As far as corals or sponges or anything else, can't say I notice a difference there. But I think the clams seem happier at least. A $30 bottle has lasted me 6 months so far, so if it IS a waste of cash, at least it's a pretty minor one, ... my affliction for a good Double-double is far worse drain..
