I'd say he probably got too close to the rock or tried to squeeze into a space where he didn't quite fit. Likely it should heal in a few days, my wrasse gets that from time to time (mostly from being an idiot
 ). Keep an eye on it in case it gets any worse but I would imagine it will heal up quickly
