![]() Hey everyone,
I have decided to take a plunge in the salty depths. I have a 54G tank that I am using for my first SW setup. However due to space limitations & limited budget, I am going to try a sump-less setup. I am looking to keep some coral, LR, couple fish, nothing over the top (in terms of reef).. Kind of a Reef for Dumbies idea.. something to work with and learn from. -Is a HOB filter (Whisper 60) adequately sized to handle a 54 SW? or should I invest in a Canister system? -Is a skimmer required right from the beginning? -What is the recommended light wattage for a tank of this size? (I have 2x39W T5HO @ 36") -How much GPH should a 54G be running for proper flow? Any other info you can help me with, and things I need to be aware off in a sumpless system would be great!
