Return pump question

You'd have to prime it initially, but after that it should create the same siphon effect like a u-tube overflow to obviate the need to re-prime as long as the sump's water level stays above pump.

The bigger problem I see is that some Mags leak over time when run externally. Some people are fine, but you should test yours first.
