Default Wolverine 750 - Rotating Return Device

Wolverine 750 - Rotating Return Device

Hi Everyone,

Well the past few weeks have seen a slowdown in Reef-Rat 1.0 prototyping re-design as I fix some things that I just wasn't happy with and incorporate those changes we all discussed here. After all, if I'm not happy with it, neither will you!

In the meantime my new KW Nilsen Reactor with mechanical stirrer is progressing in my workshop at 75% completion. Sweet unit!

After that, one of those neat dual chamber Calcium Reactors...

Now to the meaty stuff. I've discussed a new rotating return unit concept with some reef buddies here in Montreal and have received a very warm reception to the idea. It's real cold here so thinking up all this new stuff keeps us nice and warm.

Here we go, Self Contained Rotating Return Unit (SCRRU), or "Wolverine" as I call it. Some people might think the acronym for the first description to be rather derogatory.

Basically here it is, "the mating of a popular high output pump with a rotating return unit ... into one neat compact package ... no more hoses, valves, pipes, external pumps ... 0 head pressure, full pump rating ... plus a host of other little goodies and innovations."

So, what is the general reaction, are you interested in a Rotating Return Unit with an integrated 750 gph pump or not?

Please respond so we can see just how much effort I need to put into this project. More flow, more flow!!!!!!!

By the way, I checked tonight and it'll all fit in that Reef-Rat/Sea-Squirrel enclosure. It'll be tight, but that's alright!
