Sponge will start making No3 in 3 days or so.
Once a week is not good enough IMO. I would just get rid of the sponge period, run carbon and phosphate removal media BEFORE you get your hair algae. Search this forum for GHA (hair algae) and you will see how much trouble it is. Your live rock is phosphates “Home Depot" make sure you start filtering from day 1.
