It shouldn't be too bad. Although by the time you make it to Nanaimo there will only be 2 sailings left which might be a bit tight. I wouldn't bother with trying to go out of Victoria as by the time you get down there there will only be the 9pm ferry left and you might get stuck in Victoria for the night.
