bluetang is on a distinguished road
Default New over flow design..not so good at first

Well, I've been pulling my hair out for the last couple days ......
I was sick and tired of looking into my 20g and seeing nothing but pumps and equipment in the tank...So I decided to take some drastic measures and tear down the tank and drill for an overflow.
After talking with Jack well over a year ago about it, I came up with an idea I thought would work.. I was wrong...It was the loudest thing I have ever heard So I thought...
You can see by way of the pics, what I have done. I drilled the back. and syliconed in a piece of black acrylic.
Being a small tank, I didnt want to put a big overflow box in there. So I glued in the piece along the back on slight angle just to create an over flow and not cut off light to the back of the tank.
I glued together a sump and added a mag9 for a return with valves to control flow.
I fired the thing up and thought I was living inside a toilet.
I thought the, somewhat durso, was going to work but it still gurgled. It turned out I drilled the top air hole to big on the duso so I put a piece of tape over it and put a couple pin holes in it until I found the right air/water flow rate and it worked alot better.
Still a bit noisy but not bad..
Any Idea's ????
