It's basically used for heart deworming for horses, but, it works wonders for hydroids. I came across it when doing some research for my seahorses. Apparently, 1/16th of a teaspoon per 10 gallons will work as well, so, maybe start with that and then increase to the 1 - 2 mg per gallon as stated in the post. From what I've read, at 1/16th per 10 gallons, it will take out almost all of them, and seriously weaken the "strong" ones. With this low of a dose, most people have not had to remove their inverts, but, don't take that as the rule, but rather the exception. If you are concerned, remove your inverts and try. Also, you can use it to "cleanse" anything that you are going to add to your tank so that you don't inadvertantly add new hydroids to your tank, (currently battling a nasty outbreak in my seahorse tank, so, going to have to get a prescription to get some and see how I make out).
