I've heard that the mag pumps sold at hydroponic stores were made for FW setups and not SW setups as some components will rust under SW usage. Not sure if thats always the case though.

The MH setups will work just fine for our aquariums, I know of a few people who use them. The bulbs supplied there may not work for most aquarists (too yellow), so most of us just buy the bulbs online.
