Agree #3 is the best option, this is basically what I have in my RSM250 works very well with some directional nozzles on the returns. you may want to add some powerheads to help with lower tank and reef circulation.

Hey! I never "LEFT" the hobby, just doing fresh water now. Which is still listed as part of Canreef if I'm not mistaken.
