Spending too much money.
Also, for Vancouver hobbyists, I think using DI is a waste of time. I have a DSB in my tank, but then again it needs it for the seagrass. I wouldn't use one in an SPS tank. I also clean my skimmer cup pretty thoroughly. I don't think it is a waste of time as it still looks brand new
