Purple Plume Gorgonian placement

Reef Wonderland is carrying Eco-Gorgs, which is the first time I've seen them in Calgary. I may have picked up a medium sized Purple Plume on impulse because I've always wanted one and never thought I'd get one. However, upon getting home I realized I have exactly zero space for it! How aggressive/delicate are these things? can it touch other corals? I can put it in dozens of places, but there's nowhere where it's branches won't brush up against other corals else unless I put it in the sand, which just looks awkward.
