Q: How can we acknowledge helpful members?

i'm not reading through this entire thread so if this has been mentioned i apologize.
i've got another suggestion. what about rep points. when someone says or gives someone good info or whatever makes you smile, there should be a button to thumbs up them and it adds up or something. more people would use a function like that.
