I will look into the larger tube. I left the front horizontal our as I have been working on a roll out sump. This tank is going to very low to the ground (eye level while sitting on couch and top down view while standing). The drain/return will be designed with flex in the lines to accommodate this. For skimmer install/removal and general maintenance i will need to pull the sump out. I could add some gussets on the front that are the same as the sides to help flex.

I could add the horizontal 6 or 8 inches back from the front and still have it not interfere with the rolling system as it only comes out 18 to 24"

Seems all my projects I do have a strange spin to them.
