On a 100 gal system it comes out to about 30 / month
- you also save money on less frequent water changes...Ultra was once a week - I have seen no problems with the softies (acans palys) in the system - did not cause an algae bloom( my system is very seasoned ) -if you have calerupa in in your system if won't cause a die off
