a dwarf golden moray would be cool in my opinion. or if he wants a lion you could get a dwarf fuzzy.
also, a frogfish would be another option of a predator. the only constructive criticism is if he wants to go in the predator path, you may want to upgrade the skimmer eventually to something like the saphire aquatics skimmer for biocubes
