Be careful out there bad year for avalanches lost a freind in an avy this week hung up my mountain boots for the rest of the year to risky out there

Sorry to hear that! Is it an exceptionally bad year for avalanches? If so, what would be the cause? Just too warm?

I personally prefer grass covered ground. There's not much chance of me getting buried by that, unless I sit still for a vvveeeeerrrrryyyy long time!
