Im pretty sure that's a Cichlasoma Bifasciatum, I used to have quite a few of them years ago, when they are in good condition they color up really nicely. They aren't quite as aggressive as some of the other Central and South American Cichlids, but still has a cichlid attitude, so watch what you put him in with.
