Yeah, I never understood and still can't understand why those people can't differentiate between referencing/linking a picture and copying a picture. These images have not been copied so there is no copyright violation. All I've done is embedded a reference within an HTML IMG tag. The original image stays on the original server and a copy is never made. An IMG tag saves the reader the effort of clicking on the URL and that's about it.
