Anthony,
I have no idea as to why the bubbles happened. The BTA just started folding a few of its tentacles over on themselves and they then fused folded over and developed into those strange bulbous tips  "I am not an elephant"  Maybe Tony or others more knowledgeable of anemones could chime in with an answer as to why it happens.
