My only concern with using moonlights 24/7 would be exhausting some of the animals that respond to the light. Terrestrial plants DO require dark nights for optimal growth (hence why they catch the grow ops by looking at power spikes and not just steadily high consumption

), and I wonder if zooxanthellae have some need for "down time" as well. I've never seen anything written on it either way.
Actually, that might make for a fun experiment when I get playing with LEDs again. I have a small frag of my torch colony nearby.. Might be interesting to leave a blue or UV LED over it all the time and compare its growth to the other colony...
