![]() House was at 30.5°C which is 87°F. Not sure the LEDs had much to do with it.

Most of the SPS were cooked and all monti had bleached last summer when it hit 86. I have removed the glass top since and the temperature had dropped at least 2 degrees. Lucky that my tank is in my half basement so it rarely reaches that high. I will leave the MH off when the next heat wave comes.

![]() I voted for 79 degrees, and would only panic if it went over 80-81F, but it never has
My tank is very steady @ 79F and I have no issues as my heaters and chiller work well on my controller |

We bought AC and cooled the whole house 2 x 10, 000 BTU inits ![]() It cost a lot for the short heat-wave, but it was worth it when you have to sleep Think about working in the heat all day, then coming home to 98-100F heat in your house ... and trying to sleep ... I always said I would never spend the money on it, but I finally had to buy AC Here's a warning for those of you who haven't used AC yet in a heat-wave .... Our units are 10,000 BTUs each, and suck 900w each. I use them to cool the whole house with the furnace fan on for distribution With the 2 units running through the first heat-wave we had, we incurred a $250.00 bill, so you decide how often you're gonna use it/them ![]() |

![]() My SPS reef used to get to 84-85F every summer for a few years until I got a more effective fan setup. It hasn't gone over 83F yet this year. The colors fade in the summer, but it survives. My panic temperature is 86F. I've only seen bad things happens at that temp.

![]() I get concerned when my tank hits 82 or so, it hasnt done that since we moved into our house 4 years ago. When it gets up around 86 I start to go into panic mode and investigate potential causes. Last time it was a skimmer pump with a seized impeller that shot up the temp. Lucky we have ac and a very cold basement so we dont have any problems with summer temperatures. I'm actually more likely to have problems at the other end of the temperature scale and had to add a 2nd heater...

![]() Bumping this thread because it was warm here in the GVRD today. My tank got up to 78.8... not quite worried yet, but I am starting to think about the summer days ahead. Maybe it's time to get a chiller.

![]() I mean I guess I could try this, but if it doesn't keep the temp down and I go to J&L to get a chiller and find out they are sold out then I guess my only option is bags of ice lol.
