![]() Hi everyone,
My name is Oscar, and I've began the aquarium hobby again in 2011. My first tank was when I was 7 years old. Which was 16 years ago. I kept Iridescent Shark Catfish, koi, goldfish, and red slider turtles. I also had the privilege to keep stag horn beetles back in Taiwan until the immigration. Overall, I really love exotic pets. In 2012, I've decided to plunge into saltwater tanks. The switch and the transition was a daunting task, there are just so many different ways to treat marine parasites and nuisance algae to its freshwater counterpart. Most of the information to solve my problems before were found right here on this forum. So yes, I've been lurking around. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone here and continue to enjoy the hobby. And heck, since i'm already introducing myself. Here are some pictures of my tank, i know how you guys love pictures ![]() Enjoy! ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by kien; 06-15-2013 at 11:30 AM. |

![]() Looks really nice and clean.
Are you about to add your first fish , or did you remove them to treat them ?

![]() Welcome to the board!!
Very nice setup you got there. I'm interested though, I see the beananimal setup (great drain choice!), but is the hole to the left of the overflow your return? Why is there an intake strainer on it?

Thanks! Yup that is the return. The return has the strainer to prevent fish and snails from being sucked inside when there is a power outage. I didn't want the flow of the return pump to be too strong so I took the head off. It kind of disturbs with the mp10's wavemaking ability (wave looks unnatural). The flow is also tuned down to make the refugium inhabitants happy (copepods). |

![]() Yup. I had it for half a year now. I feed it life spectrum macro feeder once a week. It gets even bigger than the picture shows. Im very lucky that it didnt contract any diseases

![]() I've been trying to get a friend of mine to get me a piece of his elegance for years now, he just won't give it up. They are a lot hardier than they appear. In any case, gorgeous piece - welcome to the forum.

![]() You need to cut it using a wet blade, and use a bucket, powerheads and have to have near perfect water parameters and heat to avoid infection. It's a collosal PITA, but it can be done successfully!
