![]() Anyone have experience with both of these tests?
I've been using the API test for six months. My Calcium has routinely been testing weirdly high (500+). I figured it was due to not rolling my salt bucket well enough. I just used the Seachem Cacium test for the first time. I didn't believe the number, so I tested again. 300 ppm. The test is new, not expired, and Seachem just sent me a new reagent 2 (first one was rock hard). I'm at a bit of a loss. Which test is more trustworthy? |

![]() Seachem is definately the better quality product.
Can you bring your test kits over to a friends place locally to test against their kit and water parameters?

![]() I'm out of the API test. The Seachem one was 1/2 price at a local shop, so I figured I'd try it instead of the API one.
I can certainly get a second opinion on my calcium level, and find other water to test. |

![]() Never had any luck with the API kit for the same reasons you describe, always read artificially high by at least 100-200ppm. Tried 2 API kits and both had the same issue.
