![]() I've just plumbed a 1/2" line from outside to feed my skimmer's air inlets and am noticing some different skimmer behavior.
Anyone else try this setup and have some experience to share? I've done so in an effort to raise my tank's pH and cause the Internet never lies. ![]() |

![]() Wow, in 30 or 40 minutes my pH has risen from 8.02 to 8.07 during the end of my lighting cycle. It will be interesting to see the effect over time. The skimmer needed to be dialed back a lot to avoid overflowing. Hmmmmm.

![]() I have had my skimmer taking air from the outside since last winter. With the windows and doors all shut I was struggling to keep my PH above 8, with the skimmer pulling fresh air, it stays stable at 8.3.

![]() yes i have always did that sucking in Fresh air. Wait tipl the winter its great cold dry air the skimmer will do alot better too.
