Default Long usb cable for apex controller

I'm trying to source a 50 foot cable for my Apex. I want to run 2 tanks on the one controller. The cable can't have a repeater or booster on it. I would rather have one single cable than joining several. Anyone know where I could get a 50 foot usb male to male cable or if they are even manufactured?

Just put it in google and surf from there. Or eBay. Or try electronicsforless.ca

Loudest part of my system would be the nagging sound I hear on a regular basis about how much time and money I spend on the tank.

Typically over 15 feet you would need a repeater. You will probably have a tough time finding one that is over 15ft as it wouldn't work without some type of booster/repeater.

Is there no other connectivity method with the Apex such as ethernet that is not as restricted by length?

+1 Or an amp, your best bet is to use a splitter or repeater, when I use to do installs in school before I went to school, we would us a 6 ft usb to a splitter (amp) and then cat 5/cat 6 to another splitter then back to usb. usb signal can't travel very far before it dies out

I've tried to google it and Ebay. The issue is getting a cable over 16 feet that doesn't have a repeater. The Apex uses a 12 volt system not the typical usb 5 volt but the cable is the same type. The Apex can have a 200 foot cable so its not limited in that regard. Finding a cable is the hard part.

These guys sell them. http://www.usbfirewire.com/Parts/rr-apex-xxg.html
They aren't cheap but they are made specifically for the APEX.

You can't get a repeater in the line or it will blow the APEX.

I'm in the same dilemma, but rather than find that long cable, I'm repositioning my head unit to see what I can do with it first.

Thanks. That's the cable I'm looking for but look at that price. Triple the price of one with the repeater.

Default why not make it?

Really, a USB cable is pretty simple -- just take a a single short Usb, cut it, and insert a 50' length of Cat 6 STP or even some cheap cat5e cable?

Should only cost about $10 or so to make up (you could just by the SB ends and put them on 50' of four condutor wire (cat 5 would be cheapest).
