![]() there a lot of factor who play in this but the first one is what type of bulb you talk
If we talk about an Iwasaki 6500 vs an hushio 10k I tink the grow will be equivalent an the color a bit less yellow on the hushio but a couple of actnic will made them similar but the price of the saki is a lot better if you could pay your self a giesman fixture whit aqualine 10k they look nice to but the price tag is hight IMO If you talk of a coralife 10k they are beautiful but maybe to dim for some coral |

![]() I am running 6500 again after trying the 10000k euro that J&L sells.
I like the 10000k color much better but I only got 6 months before the lamp had startup problems. I phoned about the short life of the 10000 to the manufacter and the reply was" halides are finiky and 6 months isn't bad" at which point I boiled at the jerk and went back to 6500 iwaski of which I change after 18 months. To me the color diff is not worth it and my tank didn't seem to care. |

![]() IMO, after all the bulbs I have run, the Iwasaki in the 250 watt version, is one of the best bulbs on the market for aquarium use.
The colour seems so much better than the 400 version. And as for the bulb life, I cant tell the difference after two years of use. |

![]() Has anyone used a 6500k and 10000k 250watt MH...If so i was wondering if there is significant difference in terms of the coral growth and color between the two bulbs...or is it simply the aquarist preference of the whiteness and yellowness of each bulb..Thank you
