How long do sea urchins live?
On the average, how long do sea urchins live? (tuxcedo urchin). I had one in my tank for the past few years, crusing around, being the bulldozer he is, and he just packed it in for some reason.

Hmmm... I guess it's an unknown since we have no idea how old they are when we first bring them home from LFS.
But mine 2 have been here for over one year now, still pretty happy. Used to have one in a 90g that's over two before he died.

I've had both of mine for over a year and a half (one in each tank). They seem happy. They cruise around the tanks moving things around all the time, they go inside the caves to have naps I guess..lol but overall, they seems ok for me for over a year and half.
Who knows how long they supposed to live in captivity though.
