![]() 33 Gallon Long. Tank (48"x12"x13")
http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/va...503293246.html Man... The challenge of aquascpaing this would almost be worth the purchase. Not me selling, just would love o see this on here as a reef some day. |

![]() I have a 33 gallon long as a sump and I can already see the challenge in making this a reef. This would probably be perfect for zoes, softies and some LPS. But with SPS, I would think it'll be growing out of the water in no time.

![]() It's already been done, my friends uncle started one up about Christmas last year, it was using 2x54w t5 HO for lighting and running 2 k3, no skimmer.
He had a simplicity approach with smaller mounds of live rock and mushrooms and zoas around the bottom, Xenia and some plating monti. It can definitely be done, I was going to tear down my 33 long planted and contemplating another reef although 2 salty tanks is more than I can handle ATM....

![]() For me, the challenge would be the point, not the reason to avoid.
I think with the right rocks, you could make a stunning reef. I would just move sps into my 50 or 95 if they started to outgrow the tank. I've seen some narrow/shallow tanks before but never anything that I thought was exemplary. |
