I think it hilarious how strong the opinions are on this here.
you would think if any group could appreciate this kind of exuberance when it comes to creating and trying something new in this hobby it would be this one... I've made some bad decisions in this hobby, tried some things that seemed stupid at the outset but were fun to try and made for a new way to get excited about things again. I have a basement FULL of spare parts, tanks, stands and aquaria related junk to prove it.

We have reef tanks to bring the ocean to us, I cant remeber seeing rocks in the ocean move around on its own like that. I do not see why anyone would like to try that. Yes poor fish trying to live in that enviroment.

The idea is pretty ridiculous. You've got to be more bored than he was to come in here and try and offer up his defense lol. I wouldn't call any of these opinions. It was posted for a chuckle but if you want to make the idea reality you've got my full support

Crazy idea alright and not really effective at the intended purpose of generating or supplementing high flow, but to label the chap an idiot is a bit harsh. It's the radical thinkers of this world that have brought us to where we are today, which actually may not be a good thing since we appear to be on a path of self destruction. In any case, the guy's a computer geek and obviously has some smarts. Although his idea may not suit the intended purpose, it could well spawn other ideas which could be usefully applied as solutions to other problems.
