Why add T5 to MH?
Why would you want T5 bulbs in a MH fixture?

To create and dawn and dusk effect and to inhance the color of your reef.

Yeah dusk/dawn. Without T5s I could only view my tank within a 6 hour window and that's not nearly enough time.
If you run 10k bulbs or something not very blue you can also add that blue or actinic or whatever you want through the addition of T5s. |

I think a better question would be - Why add MH bulbs to a T5 fixture??? HAHAHA!

For greater depth penetration. I've seen T5s over a 36" deep tank and they don't do a very good job of illuminating the bottom.
