As the topic says, willing to pay TOP $$ for a healthy RBTA. Missed out on too many lately, getting impatient!

if you want a regular bta i got that...its red in color but not a rose bta..its getting too big for my tank..its around 10 inches in diameter or so..i m scared it ll sting my other fella

That's new. I've never seen a red bta that's not a rose bta. Do u have a pic of it? Sounds nice

well the problem here is that when I bought it from king eds, Jeff from king eds told me it was a bta but now it might be just a magifica ...so I dont want to sell it to deceive anyone unless I find out what it actually is first

too me it now does look like a ritteri.

I took lots of pics of the foot because Justin said you can tell what it is by the foot

You can't really tell by the foot unless you have a REALLY trained eye. BTA's and ritteri's can share a lot of characteristics sometimes.

It looks like H. magnifica though. First of all, it just looks like a classic ritteri. But further, you can tell because of its behaviour with respect to substrate and position. Attached to the top of hard substrate, and you can see the edges of the pedal disk.

BTA's like to attach to hard substrate too, but rarely have their pedal disk exposed like that, they prefer to keep the pedal disk within a crevasse or under a cave, and only have their oral disk (the "top" basically) and their tentacles out in the open.

One cautionary note ... They happen to be one of the most spectacular anemones, they also happen to be perhaps the most demanding. If they are happy and well cared for they can be easy but to compare a BTA to a ritteri is absurd, they are at complete opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of "ease of care."

They are also the largest hosting anemone. In terms of sheer diameter only S. mertensii surpasses it, but H. magnifica is capable of getting up to 36" in diameter and 12" - 14" in height so in terms of "most volume occupied" this anemone wins hands-down.

It's just a general rule of thumb Steve -- there are of course exceptions and it depends on probably a lot of variables and probably subject to debate (such as "why does my BTA no longer have bubble-tips" and so on .. ultimately we don't REALLY know). In this case though I think there is really very little question that the pictured anemone is H. magnifica.. and a very nice coloured specimen at that.

I'd take that off your hands Namscam in a heartbeat if I didn't already have a 24" ritteri that fills an entire 72g, I think two would be kind of out of my means. LOL Good luck though it really is quite nice, if I was you I'd keep the anemone and get rid of the other stuff (or get another tank, that's what I did)
