Good thought. Our water is fine for an emergency water change. I'd start filling and go get some prime at petsmart. Rather have a bit of algae than dead tank critters

If you need it, I have a 50g drum here you can borrow for a few days. Maybe a 20g one as well.

I once accidently boosted my alkalinity up to 22 dkh for a couple of days. All of the flesh fell off of one of my acropora but the rest survived. Good luck with your water change.

I would think you could use it in saltwater as well.

Good luck

the first 45 are going in as we speak, there are 3x 45 gal mixing at the time, so I'm lowering my water in the tank to about what i think would be 160 to 180 gal and than fil it while all pumps are running.

total water volume inclouding new frag tank and sump would be 500 gal - rock and sand, so about 400 / 430 gal water vol

when I have the first big change dun, i'm hoping to get down to about a KH of 20 and then bumb the calcium up a bit to 460 and then let nature do the rest

I drop about 8 to 9 ppm on the calcium a day, and if I recal right about 1.6 KH a day, so then we should be back in check after a week

gust hoping everything is doing ok

I stil have the frags (about 130) in smal bins, and wil put them floating in the new frag tank for tonight, and tomorrow while dripping the bins, introduce them to the new water parameters (I dont want to loos them)
