Well I knew this would be heavy, but never thought I wouldn't be able to lift it onto the stand by myself, got it into the basement and onto the spare bed. It can stay there for now. Tomorrow, I get the rest of the glass.

Wow I sure hope we're not looking at the one-piece eurobrace or someone missed the boat

For one thing it's in two pieces and access will be really hindered with the bracing being a few feet wide.

I hope it doesn't come like that. I should be able to pick it up tomorrow, I'm hoping it looks as good as I think it will. The last couple of new tanks builds on canreef that had a one piece looked amazing.

Actually Mike, I just shopped around and found some good deals, being in the trades helps a lot too. One of the big reasons I went a little bigger and better is that my cost is quite a bit lower than what most people would get.
As for the euro bracing, it's not that expensive. Just had to do a bit of research, and talk to a couple of different companies.

I was originaly holding out for a tig setup when I bought my new welder last year (My stick got ripped off out of my storage locker when I was selling my house) but I settled for a big Mig. wait till I get that going in the basment.. won't look at clean as your tiggin does haha.

but I do have the shop to build most of the stuff in then just tack it in place in the house. but I do have lots of welding blankets.

MDF reacts very poorly to a high moister environment...........it needs to be sealed with a special sealer, then primed, then painted or it will just swell and blow apart.....personally I would use plywood(coming from a carpenter who has made his fair share of tank stands)
