After much thought and research, figuring out costs etc.. Thinking of different ways of lighting with no VHO's, all MH combos, EYE ballast etc etc etc.

New MH on my tank.

With the power consumption going down by ~ 120W, I decided since I had a 400W ballast..

Why not eh?

Whoa Nelly. [img]smile.gif[/img] I am impressed. I wasn't with the 250W ushio. but now I am. It may not have the PAR of a 65KK but it does look nice. Now we see if it all grows as well as it was with the 65KK.

Yes I was running a 250W iwaskai. I loved it.. but I have been doing a LOT of reading and thinking lately about upgrading.. some options as you know were keeping the 250 and adding two 150W iwaskai Aquas or 175W sunbursts. Or adding an an EYE ballast to run the Iwasakis beter. Well I had a 400W balalst sitting here ready to go and decided to use it.

The color is great.. It was ok with the 250 ushio but no where near intense enough. Not even close. Now with the 400W it is a different story.. I am happy with it.

I can see already it is bringing out some colors I didn't see before. Not due to the coral changing but the light emphasising different frequencies.

Overall I give it two thumbs up. [img]smile.gif[/img]
