![]() I was due for an upgrade so I got myself a 40 gallon sump today. my old set up was too small and I was getting micro bubbles in the tank... anyway, this sump has a trickle tray on the in side and I'm wondering, what would be the best thing to run on top of/under the tray for filtration? any help would be appreciated! thanks guys

![]() When I had a sump like that I used those carbon pads. They are kind of like a flossy sponge type material. I eventually just took the tray out and filled the sump with live rock IMO best filtration there is.

![]() I was thinking about putting that filter floss stuff right under the drip tray, followed by bio balls, the LR under that... good idea or no?

![]() I'm not a big fan of bioballs. I think they are just nitrate factories. The liverock wil be enough.
