Default Carbon Block

Are the carbon replacement cartridges for your RO unit from Home Depot just as good as the ones you get at J&L? Is the micron size of the carbon block that important if I have 2 pre-filters?

If the seals are the same as in your R/O, I think it would be fine. Some carbon can leach phosphates into the water though, so I would check that out.
I didn't know that carbon filters were rated by micron size.

I use HD filters. No problem but I have 2 sediment filters before the charcol so microns mean nothing to me.
