on-line shops for camera

Am thinking of getting a Canon EOS digital rebel. Just wondering if any of the board members have tried getting cameras from e-bay. There appears to have a few Canadian on-line shops in the east coast. The prices quoted are much better than those from retail shops in Vancouver.
BTW, are there any good retails in Greater Vancouver area. I have looked into Kerrisdale camera, Broadway camera, London drugs, Japan camera and Blacks.

I got mine of ebay from Henrys.com .. picked up the canon s230 for $560 (shipping included) at the time the cheapest one in the city was $600
