Default After a bit of work.. here it is.

This is with the VHO's and actinics only. I need to re-acclimate my corals to the Iwasaki. The reflector makes an unbelievable difference in light.

Hmm doesn't shoe the difference you can see in person.

Iwasaki is DEFINATELY brighter. but does have a slight yellow to it at the start. Ushio is whiter from the satrt but as time goes on with the 6500 it gets to be almost the same in white. I'll be sticking with the 6500.

Deej, are you putting the Mantis in the top Ref or in the bottom sump? It looks like if he's up there he might be tempted to smash at the glass trying to get to the main tank... just a thought

It looks awesome DJ.

Do you have actinics on with your 6500k there? I cannot perceive a difference at all between the two pics. If you told me they were of the same bulb, I'd beleive you.

Just curious, what ballast are you using? MV or MH?

I notice the tiniest tinge of yellow with my two Iwasaki's. The two actinic I'm using do balance it out some, though. I don't really find the colour displeasing at all. The look is very similar to what you would see if you were snorkeling in shallow water. I kind of like it

cheers

Makavelli,

The mantis will go in the fuge until I get her own home set up and running. Can't wait for that. I am sick of setting up tanks right now. lol

Tony,

I must say after throwing a 10KK on there then the 65KK I will stay with 65KK.

I am actually only running one 20W actinic. and it is at the back of the tank. Really. I have two 75W VHO 10KK's but the one 20W 03 is it for actinics.

Looking at my tank right now it is almost a sharp whote in appearance. I am veeery happy with it.

I am running the PFO standard ballast. So a MH not a MV. I can't imagine how nice it would look with the EYE ballast.

Mares,

Thanks
