Default macro algae

Question

I just recently setup a 50 gal tank

I have been experiencing a large amount of brown macro algae growth

on my L R

About 40% of my L R has a large amount of brown macro algae growth

Is this normal?

otherwise tha tank is fine

thanks

Default Re: macro algae

Is this brown MA growing in sheets, on stalks or how?

I have both of these types of MA in my 72 gal softie reef. I think they are beautiful and are useful for sucking up nitrate

Default a large amount of brown macro algae growth

Its growing in stalks

Hoping it will help the tank settle in ( 7 weeks old)

quess I will just prune it back when it gets to long & hope that after I get

more growth in my refuguim it will fade away
