Default reactor----in the sump or out?

who runs their phosban type reactors in the sump and who hangs them off the outside? i would think that less risk of leaks with them inside the sump.

I used to run both on the outside until I lost the O ring for one. I didn't have much room in my old sump to have them on the inside. Now that I have a larger sump I run them both in the sump. Kind of sucks as they grow all sorts of crap on them but the one is the phosban 550 which has a crap design IMO. I do hang my carbon one (with o ring) on the inside of the sump (still in the water though) but the 550 just sits in the sump itself.

Mine's hanging outside the sump. I just don't have space to hang it inside.

Inside. I cannot afford a leak as my tank is in my Living room sitting on a hardwood floor.

Hanging on the inside. I dont have the O rings installed right because I find doing so to be a nuisance plus I have lots of room in my sump.
