Default Braceless tank

Well after some proding I took the center brace out of my tank and filled it with water. after it was full I measured the side glass to see if it was bowing at all. What I found was I was only bowing 1/32nd of a inch.

So it looks like my glass size is good enuf to go with now bracing so I will cancle the order I put at the glass shop for the euro brace sence they havent started making them yet.

Hey Steve, looks great and best of luck, I really like that clean look and the efficiency of the plumbing!

If it's not too late there might be one suggestion that I would make...

I notice that your fan holes are quite high, closer to the bulbs. I originally had my canopy like this and found that cooling was not very good. Someone on RC suggested that I turn the side panels around so that the fan holes were slightly below center. Essentially leaving the bulbs alone but cooling and drawing the air below and blowing over the water. By doing this I lowered my tank temp to 78deg throughout the summer.

Of course you may have other ways of cooling like a chiller or a fan over your sump but just a thought!

Best,

Rob

ya that end pannel is 5 foot tall so if I turn it over it will be at thje floor. The main pourpose of that hole is to remove hot air from the canopy so thats why it is at the top.

The tank looks really good. So are you sticking with this tank or what's up?
