![]() So, way back when I started my cube I ended up with a cool hitchhiker... a plate coral! I have not been able to ID this particular species but it is attached to the LR and is (or atleast was) growing.
Unfortunately, my toadstool has overshadowed this poor thing and it is looking pretty rough and I feel it's time to move it. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on how to remove a plate coral from the rock without killing it? |

![]() just grab it as close to the rock as you can and break it off.

![]() You can use cutters to snip it off near the rock.

If you see it, can take care of it, better get it or put it on hold. Otherwise, it'll be gone & you'll regret it! |

![]() i did remove one from the rock by cutting the live rock with the blade of the hack saw.
Just make sure its clean and it might start oxidizing if you keep it there for too long. You can cut from one side and then insert a small flat screw driver it will snap easily. Or cut out the toad , but it will grow back soon though |
