I had some problems with my calcium reactor and now my DKH has gone from 10 to 18 coming out of my reactor and the main tank is at 16 how do I get my DKH back to normal and why did this happen. Please can you help me ASAP.

![]() The best thingto do is to stop the reactor until you get your ALk down it will come down the natural way. Then once it gets to the desired level you can start it up at when you want the level to be achieved again.
hope this helps mike

Thanks Mike I will try shutting my reactor off for now. I have also read that adding vinegar to my top-up tank will also add some acidity to the system. Thanks again |

![]() It's normal the effluent out of the reactor will have a high dKH (20+) so if it was only 10 before doesn't really seem like it was running properly.
As to bring the current alk level down, just shut off the CO2, I wouldn't be adding anything else.
